Zambezi River · Victoria Falls
A four-course dinner prepared fresh on board, served at your own table while the river turns amber.
Four courses cooked on board while the Zambezi turns amber above the falls.

The setting
The Zambezi runs 2,574 km from a source in north-western Zambia to the Indian Ocean, touching Angola, Namibia and Botswana on the way. At Victoria Falls it is the border itself, with Zimbabwe on the south bank and Zambia on the north.
For a long way upstream of the drop the Zambezi spreads over a level sheet of basalt in a shallow valley, scattered with tree-covered islands that multiply as the river nears the edge. It is a wide, quiet stretch of water to spend an evening on.
The Lozi name for the falls, Mosi-oa-Tunya, means just that. Spray typically climbs more than 400 metres and can be seen from up to 50 km away, so the cloud over the gorge is visible long before you reach it.
Victoria Falls town stands on the south bank at the western end of the falls, ringed by national parks. The railway from Bulawayo reached it shortly before the bridge opened in April 1905, and tourism is its main industry today.
Six stages, one evening
One three-hour cruise on the Zambezi, from the moment a driver collects you to the moment you are dropped back at your lodge.
Itineraries can change, and the starting time depends on the date: your voucher shows the time for your evening. A national-park fee is payable at check-in.
Free transfers run from hotels and lodges in Victoria Falls town, Zimbabwe, within a 5 km radius. Guests staying in Livingstone, Zambia are not collected.
The cruise leaves from the Pure Africa Waterfront on the Zambezi. Starting times are shown when you check availability, then repeated on your voucher.
As the boat pulls away, your favourite drink is poured and you are shown to your set table. Beverages, alcoholic and not, come with the cruise.
Dinner is prepared fresh on board Zambezi Breeze and served as a series of dishes, four courses in all. The alternative is a six-course dinner on Zambezi Reflections.
The operator's description mentions elephant silhouettes and hippos grunting in the distance, and guests report hippos, elephants and crocodiles on some evenings. Wildlife is never promised, so plan the evening around the dinner and the light.
After three hours on the river the boat returns to the waterfront, and the same complimentary transfer takes you back to your hotel or lodge.

On board
The cruise sells one evening with two dinner options and drinks included. Here is what each part covers, and what you settle separately.
